Going by what everyone has been saying about this tour, and from the live videos Son Volt has been posting on Facebook, I really hope Jay takes this lineup into the studio for a follow up album. They really seem to be killing it at the moment!

So watch with me if you will
Wasted words you cannot kill
Certain glances that destroy you still
Prescriptions you'll never fill
There was a time you could erase
Memories that held no grace
A heart dried up is hard to save
Take it with you, to the grave

I'd love to see Fifteen Keys added to the setlist. Listening to the Live At The Bottom Line concert, it's a great sounding track when it's electrified. And of course, I'd love to see a return of Left A Slide to the setlist. Definitely one of, if not the best Son Volt songs in my opinion, and it woul...

Mike Johnson! It's great seeing another fan here of his work. His contributions to Mark Lanegan's solo work is superb, and His own solo records are just as good, if not better. I've been getting into What Would You Do lately. Great album.

MIDNIGHT “Midnight” references the traditional theme of hell and the hope of redemption. I played my guitar through an old bass amp that was lying around Red Pill Studio here in St. Louis. I played guitar through a bass amp to get a deeper, heavier-sounding guitar. Not only was it a bass amp, but i...

No Depression Interview

Just saw this interview posted to the No Depression Facebook page. It seems like Jay and Jeff Tweedy are finally losing some of the animosity between each other...

I just found a copy of Live At The Bottom line today. Opened it up, and realised that I have two coopies of the 2nd LP - both LP's are sides C and D. Has anyone else had that issue with this album at all? I'mdisappointed as it was something I was quite excited to come across.

I'm completely hooked on this album already. Jay Farrar and Co. have really made something special with this album. Give it time, and I dare say I might rank it up there with Trace and Okemah... as one of my favourite Son Volt records.

I love that he was having a dig at all those 80's hair bands in the lyrics to Slate as well. And it sounded like he might be working on a follow up shortly, if that interview was anything to go by.

SMOKIN'. We've heard 4 songs now, nearly half the album, and this thing is absolutely KILLER. Technically, we have heard half the album if you count the preview of Static on the Son Volt Facebook page, but I completely agree. And I honestly don't think the band has rocked this hard since Wide Swing...

Jay Farrar on Australian radio

Hey, not sure if anyone has seen this yet, but Jay Farr was featured recently on Double J, a digital radio station from here in Australia. They've been playing a few tracks from the new album as well. http://doublej.net.au/programs/tower-of-song/jay-farrar-talks-blues-finger-picking-and-big-hair-ban...

I want to cross, I don't think I can
It's too weak here, even where I stand
Come Here Darlin', let me see you hold my hand
So we can mend your broken halo
