Chuck Prophet- saw him about 6 mths ago-interesting show. . The man's the very definition of underrated, and he's been that way for so long he's got used to it, I think. He has a fanatical cult following in little ol' Europe. Every time I've seen him play in the UK - and I've lost count how many ti...

That's Winchester, Hampshire, not VA, right? Well, Chuck Prophet made it to the Railway Inn a little while back

Ben is barred from the Railway now.

Definitely my favourite song from the album so far. I mentioned it elsewhere in the same breath as "Left a Slide", which I think is a close cousin, partly because of Heywood's slide, which marks it out for greatness. I also think it's a bit of a "Hickory Wind" for the noughties - the "calling me hom...

I regularly log into the US store (you've got much cooler music than we have), and while you can access the clips, it doesn't let you download. I was in L.A. in November and thought I would be able to get some stuff off itunes while I was there, but of course it works by your registered account, not...

European Citizen Blues

Just a word or two from across the pond... While over there you have the dilemma of too much choice (the curse of the consumer society, eh?) - ITunes or not? Standard release or bonus ep? OK, so which bonus ep shall I go for? - all we can do is stand at the shore and look longingly across to your gl...

For me, it's the best song he's written in this mode since Left a Slide - which it resembles, of course. Also struck me as a kind of "Hickory Wind" for the noughties.

I'd be interested to know if this is going to make it outside the US ITunes store, since the last exclusive (the live EP) did not. The European release of the album is already 3 weeks behind the US, I think. It would be a shame, though typical, if the loyal European fans missed out (again). I agree ...

Not a big venue, but the acoustics are awful. I saw the band there a few months ago. It was great to see them firing on all cylinders, but the lyrics were a blur, and it was such a relief when Jay played some acoustic stuff, so you could actually hear what he was singing. I haven't missed a single V...

Yeah, that's a great one. Interesting that when he introduces it on the recording I have heard (some kind of radio show), he says something like "this is an old song by Charlie Pride" - rather than Doug Sahm. I wonder whether his knowledge of it came from his parents' record collection (Pride) or hi...
