Qella is right. The Bowery is the gold standard for shows in the city. It feels intimate, especially the bar/lounge downstairs. There is a reason that Webster Hall pays the Bowery to manage their concerts.
I just got tix and will see you all there July 12.

Directions
If you are driving take the FDR Drive down the east side and exit at the South Street exit. If you are taking the subway, virtually every line stops at Fulton Street.
See you there.

My favorite Jeff stuff is: 1. Not For The Season -- Not that slow Loose Fur version. The fast one they used to play. 2. She's A Jar -- This is the seminal song of the Tweedy catalog. This is where he goes from literal lyrics to Joycean alliteration. 3. Gun -- His best UT. 4. Jesus Etc -- Cements him...

I bought the 'No Alternative' CD back in like 92, on which was "Effigy". I had previously heard of UT, but this song turned me off (it being a cover and all). I then fell in love with "Drown" the first time I heard it on the radio and made the connection. The rest is history. Sometimes I wonder if I...

Wilco is great, but I do fear that the lineup changes will hurt their creativity going forward. Let's hope I'm wrong. To follow up on a point that BigB made, Wilco is definitely the best "band" making music today. Here are my top 5 "bands": 1. Wilco 2. Flaming Lips 3. Coldplay 4. Grandaddy 5. Dandy ...

It was a great show. Basically he comes out and starts with the TB stuff with just Mark Spencer seated next to him. As DT said, this was the most talkative I have ever seen Jay. I guess breaking the string on the first song broke the ice. Then he works thru some Sebastopol stuff for which he needs a...
