Re: Orange Peel Asheville NC 9.22.21

Thanks for posting the show. I think the new material fits in nicely. My one quibble is Hearts And Minds. It just doesn’t fit at all. I agree it’s most representative of Honky Tonk but I’d still go with Angel of the Blues for the live set.

Re: The Seeker

Great! Thank you for posting this.
Side note: I just watched an episode of Inspector Lewis that opens with The Seeker playing in an Oxford University dorm room.

Re: New Album: Electro Melodier

The album continues to do well. After “falling” from #3 to #4 (on roots album chart), it went up to #2 and then, as of now:

Re: New Album: Electro Melodier

On Roots Music Reports album chart: currently (week ending August 21) at #4. Prior week it hit #3; week before that at #13. Not too shabby.

Single: Reverie went from #40 all the way up to #7. And I see The Globe just entered new at #49.

Re: Son Volt at Fitzgerald's 8/20

Thanks, Gold Rush! The new album tracks are all good choices, I think. The Seeker?! Wow, I’m keenly interested in hearing SV’s take on that one.

Digital Gramophone ranking of UT/SV/Wilco etc

I just watched this (2 parts) this lazy, Saturday, morning and thought it fun. Yes, yes, one person’s opinion but there’s a few surprises. And the top 4 or 5 should be pleasing for Jay Farrar fans.
Note: after part one finishes it should go directly to part two.

Re: Field of Chester

This song was already posted earlier but this is a wider view, showing the entire band. Mark’s keyboards come through clearer in this first one, I think. ‘Livin’ In the USA’:

Re: Field of Chester

Unfortunately I was unable to attend but a friend did. Sent me a video of Route, excellent as always. Then sent me another text the next morning: "I was drinking bourbon on Son Volt's tour bus" Me: "Get out of here. You were not? With Jay?" "No with Jake's (our buddy's stepson) band. Son Volt wasn'...

Side note: I see that Jesse Farrar is opening the first dates. Per Old Salt Union website: “ Primary vocalist and bassist, Jesse Farrar (for the indie rock heads - yes, he’s related – Son Volt front man Jay Farrar is Jesse’s uncle) ”

Re: Paste Magazine Interview

This is a really good interview. Jay has a high level of curiosity, always seeking out local history topics/sites that most folks can live near their entire lives and might not bother to investigate: “ But yeah, there’s some semi-local history around here, like the Trail of Tears crossed over the Mi...
