Oh I don't discount Bush's religious views, just the idea they are based on the Book of Revelations. I think he views himself more as divinely appointed and his decisions having God's grace and all that pompous paternalistic bullshit.

Re: Hate to be Political BUT....

..I think a lot of it really is a war for oil, I think a lot of it is inspired by Bush's right wing christian fundamentalists interpretations of the Book of Revelation. I think a lot of it is cause his father failed to take out Saddam in the 90s. I think very little of it has to do with "Terrorism"...

Talking about Tweedy on a Farrar message board is like talking about Bush on a Kerry message board. If you identity yourself as partisan your opinion automatically doesn't count.

People were pretty responsive to this show. Various moments of standing applause after nearly every song. About the only people who I witnessed that were not enjoying it was the couple sitting behind me talking throughout Greendale. The same couple who, upon the second half of the show, objected to ...

Milla Jovovich would be my choice.

And Greendale was just amazing... even better than the second half where he played some old tunes.

Re: "It's got the feel of socialist revolt, too."

I was listening to Straigtaways and decided to check out what Farrar was doing lately and came to the jayfarrar.net. I was ready to buy the new album until I saw the quote from Jay, about the old name for the label ACT/RESIST: "It's got the feel of socialist revolt, too." To paraphrase Frank Zappa,...
