i've played around with those line 6 delay modelers. they are cool - lots of sounds, fun to mess around with. don't know if i'd ever want to use one live, unless i had spent way too much time programming in advance.

does anyone have a recommendation on what to buy if i want a cheap (i mean really cheap) acoustic just to play around the house? i mean, is there any difference between the washburn or the epiphone or the jasmine if they're all 129 dollars? Using a mic is definitely the best way to go. If you're doing any home recording I wouldn't even bother plugging in your acoustic. The DI takes the signal you're feeding it (from a 1/4" instrument cable) and converts to an XLR cable so it can be sent straight to a mixing board or recording device.
