I remember relying on him coming through the Belly Up in Solana Beach almost like clockwork. I found myself traveling up to Joshua Tree to see SV last year. I doubt I'll be able to make the even further journey north this year. I wonder what's keeping him from making his way down? I'm sure he still ...

I can vouch for Fig. Weird room, excellent show. I was in awe at how powerful the band sounded. The natural surroundings of the area around Pioneertown provided some great recreation surrounding the gig as well. My only real gripe is that Mark Spencer seems way-underutilized in this line-up. Maybe i...

Yeah, gotta say I'm really disappointed that our only option is Stagecoach this go-round. Must have a deal with the promoter or something. Don't know that I can justify a long drive for what will most likely be a midday set at festival prices. Don't have much interest in trying to navigate that whol...

I know I'm getting carried away after two listens, but Back Against The Wall is my favorite SV 2.0 song by a wide margin. Classic Jay vibe and the playing sounds outstanding.

I got shut out. Sebastopol was really the only thing I was looking for. My store didn't get it in. I probably would have bought the live SV as consolation but they were sold out by the time I got there. I hope after RSD he presses another run of Sebastopol and gives us another crack at it.

Sebastopol/thirshiftgrottoslack Reissue

I didn't see this in any other thread, forgive me if I missed it. From SV's Facebook:

"Jay's "Sebastopol" and "thirdshiftgrottoslack" to be reissued on vinyl on Record Store Day (4/16/16)! Reviewing the refs tonight. Sounds great! Very limited pressing. Details to come!"

I'm really excited for this.

Amazing show. One of the most enjoyable of Jay's shows I remember seeing, thanks in no small part to Eric Heywood, who played some of the most transcendent steel I've heard. He made sure every lick on Trace, and Honky Tonk for that matter, was covered whether it was originally a guitar part or steel...

Easily the most exciting thing to come from this round of interviews. Trace on vinyl is great, but a reissue of Sebastopol with extra tracks is what I've been waiting for.

I watched their streamed Farm Aid set live last weekend and it was incredible. The band is really complimenting Neil and he was out of his mind angry/intense. Can't wait to see them in a few weeks.

What a well-reasoned argument. I think I might have to check this theory out for myself.

I declared it his worse album (worse that Fork In The Road) upon it's release but it's growing on me some after I bought tickets for San Diego next month and spun it a bunch more.

I was listening to the official Live 1999 the other day and thinking the same thing.
For my money SV 1 were the only ones who came close to that CH sound, largely due to Mike Heidorn's drumming and Dave's Les Paul. SV 2, even during it's original rocking lineup, did not have that spark and rough edge.
