I too really enjoy this thread, and learning of new things to checkout. From my side, my favorites (in no order): - Robert Plant, "Carry Fire" - Steven Wilson, "To the Bone" (probably my favorite of the year) - Martin Simpson, "Trials & Tribulations" - Neil Young, "Hitchhiker" (Not sure if this real...

Actually, my wife loves them ("Red Barchetta" being her favorite song of theirs) -- she got me into them. Saw them in concert a few weeks ago, they were quite impressive.

Not sure if folks are aware of Daytrotter.com (http://www.daytrotter.com/) -- I just recently learned of that site. They post in-studio sessions with various artists, one of which is with Joe Pug. There is a lot of good stuff I imagine fans of SV would like/check-out (Jackie Greene, Grace Potter, Fe...

Sound in Phoenix was shamefully bad

Just wanted to weigh in on the show last night. I am a huge fan and was psyched to have front row tickets. Unfortunately the sound was very poor (it ranged from un-listenable to average throughout the show.) The first 3 songs had no vocals, and the band seemed aware but plowed on (personally, I woul...

This is a fun topic. Three spring to mind for me:

Patty Griffin opening for Lucinda Williams (idiot that I am, I only arrived for the last 2 songs and instantly regretted it) ('98 ish)

John Hiatt opening for Jackson Browne ('95 ish)

Jayhawks opening for Black Crowes ('92)

Take care,
Chris

Hi all, > The guitar player is the real deal, Brad who? Must say, I disagree. While I thought he was great on the "rockin'" older stuff, as well as "Voodoo Candle" -- I did not care for his addition to the new stuff and I thought his solos hurt "Windfall" and "Tear Stained Eye" -- way too technical ...

Must agree with the "yea"s

From the Tucson show last night that was probably my favorite song -- absolutely loved it. My buddy (who was unfamiliar with this song) also indicated it was one of the hi-lights of the show for him.

Take care,
Chris
