Good call on Gary Allan. He is one of the few modern country acts I enjoy although his last single Hangover was god awful.

It was typical Jay no banter and really didn't say much about Trace and looked not too excited to be there. But that's just Jay been to a bunch of his shows and he is always like that. Talked with his wife before a show in Chicago years ago and she talked about how nervous he gets and miserable he i...

Great show made the drive from Chicago. Hoping to hear "Too Early" at the Chicago show in December as I have always loved that song and never heard them play it live. Instead I had to settle for listening to it on my phone from their Austin City Limits 1996 show in darkness as my wife slept in our N...

Windfall Waltz

Does anybody have the mp3 of Son Volt performing the "Windfall Waltz" from Chicago in 1999. I had it a few years back but my computer crashed and I can't find it anywhere on the net. It was a different version which made it great and I would love to be able to hear it again! If anybody could help me...

Have you ever heard Son Volt/UT in an unexpected place?

Last night I was enjoying a meal and Noodles & Co. in the Chicago neighborhood of Lincoln Park when "Driving the View" came on their store mix much to my surprise. It def made my night. Only other time I remember something like this happening was in West Yellowstone, Montana 2 years ago in a local g...

Richmond Fontaine High Country disappointment...

Am I wrong when I say I really miss the Richmond Fontaine that made Lost Son, Winnemuca, Post to Wire, Miles From, and even Thirteen Cities. While they are still my favorite band out there I'll admit"We Used to Think.." and High Country really disappointed me. I see that they are doing here with the...

Barstow is a good one...it was on one of the mixes I made. I could drive around the west for weeks and agreed it makes for a perfect backdrop for music. Just not the same driving around Chicago! Cool to hear you did a similar trip HAP. We never made it to Flagstaff. I would like to check it out at s...

Driving Around The West...

I just got back from California, AZ, and Nevada and made a few CD's for our rental Wrangler to drive from San Diego to Joshua Tree to Grand Canyon to Las Vegas. The CD's were heavy on Richmond Fontaine, Son Volt, Uncle Tupelo, The Futurebirds, Whiskeytown, and some other random songs. My personal fa...

Go to see Willy...Richmond Fontaine is the best thing in music right now and I am just waiting for them to come to Chicago! I might have to book a flight to Portland because I need to see them live already!

Richmond Fontaine Bootlegs

Does anyone have any live Richmond Fontaine shows or know where I can find some. I have a few of them but am always looking for more. They are the best when it comes to alt country.
