One nitpick on The Reason: at 2:15 in, there's the line "with the company that you keep", which shoehorns in an extra syllable. Personally, I don't think dropping the "that" would change the meaning and, in my opinion, it would flow better: "with the company you keep", is the same meaning. After al...

I was thinking it might be nice if everyone pitched in and got me a Rick Wakeman-style cape to wear in Son Volt, like a Nudie or Manuel-style number, maybe with glittery depictions of your favorite songs from the first three Son Volt records...some of these venues are chilly in winter, you know.

It’s a good tune. My only complaint and I am probably in the minority here is that I just don’t like the keyboard. It’s just sounds too much like The Search and American Central Dust, which don’t get me wrong I love both. I want to hear Frame and Jay’s guitars more and less keys. It’s just superflu...

Great setlist and The 99 sounds tremendous. Just curious, why did the band travel from their various homes to Denver for 2 shows, with nothing else on the schedule for months? Kinda odd. Did Jay say anything about that (yeah, I know it's Jay and the answer is likely "no you idiot, have you ever see...

My guess is that material won't get debuted until the album is released, but you never know.

And could you please persuade Jay to play the beautiful Angel of the Blues? Has he (and you) ever played it live? We've never played it live, but it's still my favorite song of his that I played on the recording of (I played almost all the instruments on the song as well (all but acoustic and drums...

Without fail the worst place to stand at any concert, to hear the whole show mixed well, is at the front of the stage, unless you're there to acquire set lists or see what kind of shoes the band is wearing or REALLY like loud guitars and don't give a shit about the vocals or are cataloging masturbat...

From what I know Jacob and Ken Coomer started a vintage drum sales/rental company in Nashville. But Patterson kicks ass and is a great guy to boot.

I'm happy people are digging the keys. The keyboard is a Nord Electro, which was pretty much designed to approximate most classic and vintage keyboards...like Organs, electric pianos, clavinets, etc. It also has really good acoustic piano sounds, and can approximate lots of other acoustic instrument...

I'm not sure how many of the shows, at least the two in NYC, and maybe Boston and Philadelphia, Anders will have the full compliment of the band "Cloud Badge" in tow, meaning...Steve Hadeka on drums and the estimable Creston Lea, luthier and bassist, as well as yours truly on keys and whatever is in...
