Hmmmm.....can't remember how long the whole show was, but 10 hours should be a decent portion of it.
I'm sure over half of it would be stuff that I wouldn't be interested in, but for $30, it has my interest.

Re: Awesome website chatter!

I'm going out drinking with Eric, Sharon and John in about an hour. I'll make sure and let them know about ALL THE LOVE here on the website, and the hilarious speculations. All I can tell you so far is ...you're all wrong. See you in Nov. on tour with Jay, your last chance for a while to see it one...

Finally something I can agree with.
I'm glad Jay is recording with a full band, but it's just not Son Volt.
I'm still hoping that it will be good, but he really should come up with a new band name.

Drag The River isn't Jay, so they must suck.... Brilliant logic used by some people on this site. Drag the River is much more country than anything Jay does these days. I think they rock and to be perfectly honest, like them more than any of Jay's solo work. They aren't UT or Son Volt, but they sti...

That was written right about the same time that Vonnegut started to go totally insane. I'm a huge Vonnegut fan, but IMO everything he's written or said since Galapogus is just loony and incomprehensible. I think the address that Alexander Solzhenitsyn gave to the graducating class at Harvard (even t...

Re: Oh

Hey Version2 Weren't the Meat Puppetts from Phoenix. I grew up in Phoenix and listened to them, and knew they played around town a lot. In fact when I was there visiting last year, I swear to god one of the Meat Puppets was shot at the down town post office. check out http://www.roadrunnerrecords.c...

I, for one, would like to hear a funny song - or a song with some humor attached to it. A little irony, sarcasm, or a joke - old song writing tradition, you know. Agreed. If I had to vote rockin' or acoustic, I'd got rockin' (acoustic fine, but rockin' would be a nice change). If I could vote for a...

OK, the original thread here was probably started as a joke, but it made some valid comparisons and the 2 pictures I posted do make Jay and Danzig look an awful lot alike.
In other words, lighten up and laugh a little.
Jay is not God and if someone makes a joke as his expense, it's not blasphemy.

Maybe that could be set up as a seperate board here at jayfarrar.net.
This board to have discussions and then another board for desperate guys to get dates, but somehow I think the only dates that those desperate guys would find would be other desperate guys, so maybe this is a bad idea.

Well Hank, growing up as a kid, Hosoi was one of my idols and I listened to a lot of punk rock. The first alt country band I was into was a group that wasn't really alt-country- they were more punk that was influenced by country called the Meat Puppets. I liked them a lot and they got me into more c...
