Sebastopol tuning

I've never used this tuning, but I use a variant, which I have always thought I invented. Anyway, I didnt' borrow it, I found it on my own.

The article says "Sebastopol Tuning" is DADF#AD

My tuning is "DADF#BD" It's very pretty. Try it out!

Cahokian

I grew up in Southern Illinois, living for a time in Belleville, and for a lot longer in nearby O'fallon. I made several trips to the Cahokia Mounds when I was a kid. In an interview Jay was talking about that song and about the mounds and mentioned that he used to go to the "Grandpa's" store nearby...

Sebastopol

This is by far my favorite Jay Farrar work. I love many tracks from Uncle Tupelo and Son Volt, but this is, in my opinion, Jay's most well conceieved and coherent... as well as consistently high quality... work ever. The songs are all very good, the arrangements are interesting. He makes use of dive...

Jay's next album

I'm basically an acoustic player and love acoustic sound, so I'm never disapointed with Jay when he goes that direction. Plus, as a songwriter, I like to hear the words... and Jay's words are worth hearing. So I get frustrated when lyrics get swallowed up in Electric band sound. Still, I love the el...

Farrar Lyrics

You're really not mad at anyone, you're just mad at the world Vitamins Bear the glare of Cold War trash, put it on the table Staying the course, leaking workaday degradation With the ballot box open; the flowing information; the temperature warming and all the cloning nonchalance Greenwich Time Walk...

12-String Songs

Not sure what songs are 12 string songs but "Greenwich Time" sounds like a 12 to me. Sounds like a 12 string lead on "Medicine Hat"... very Byrds-y when that lead comes in, though it doesn't last long.
