Re: New Album: Electro Melodier

That's Mr. Spencer and Mr. Hunt!
I'm counting down the days to the SV show in September at Knuckleheads in Kansas City. I'm thinking it's the 9th time I've seen the band or Jay perform with other great musicians.

Thanks Tupelo Son. It's the dobro I'm thinking of. Masterful throughout the entire tune.

Fifteen Keys

Anyone know the type and model of guitar used on "Fifteen Keys?" Particularly the unique chords that enter the tune right after the opening line, "Watch it separate in two…" "Fifteen Keys" has always been one of my top five UT tunes. The string work on this song is hypnotic. I wonder of Mr. Farrar...

I aint no playa but I did just finish Robbie Robertson’s book, "Testimony" last evening. I enjoyed it a lot. I read Levon Helm’s "This Wheel’s on Fire" about five years ago and came away feeling that Robertson was a bit of a back stabber, prima donna and more of a glory hound than the rest of the bo...

"Station to Station"

Listened to "Station to Station" from ThirdShiftGrottoSlack last night and thought, "Damn, sounds a little like a Buffalo Springfield tune!"

Anyone else ever had the same awakening?

Very stoked that Jay is apparently back to an electric sound. I had the pleasure of speaking with him briefly after his September show in Kansas City. He said the new album will be released in February. Can't come soon enough.

During my chat with Jason Kardong near the beer stand, after their set he (Jason) told me Jay was circulating among the crowd. And, when I got back to the side bleachers a couple friends told me Jay, "walked right by you guys wearing the steel guitar player's cap."
