Has anyone seen Jay lately?

No updates on the website, no recent tour dates, and no emails from the site. Did aliens obduct Jay or is he taking a break?

I was at the bar with a friend of mine, and some new guy she met. At first, I wasn't so sure about him, but then, all of a sudden, I find out he's a huge Jay fan. We got drunken and sang "Moonshiner" to everyone at the bar.

Needless to say, I was disappointed she didn't go out with him again.

very true- I saw Ralston two or three times in the past 6 months...always a treat, especially with the intimate atmosphere of the venue, One Trick Pony.

Michigan Snubbed Again

When will the day come when I don't have to travel outside the state of Michigan to see Jay play. I'm going to see Todd Snider in town on the 3rd, but I'd much rather travel to Ann Arbor or elsewhere in the state to see Jay play. It's very disappointing.

I agree. I had a feeling something would happen after recording 'Sometimes'. I read the announcement at work and threw my arms in the air like my favorite team just scored a touchdown. Everyone in the office gave me funny looks, so I yelled out in cliche, "They're gettin' the band back together...MAN!

Son Volt - New Songs

I was reading an article somewhere where Jay says he's been doing a lot of writing. The article was pre SonVolt announcement, but it sounded like he was having a lot of fun doing it. It makes you wonder what kind of twist or turn his music will take now. I can't wait to here what Son Volt will put o...

Poor Michigan...

It's been a long time since Jay has come through the Great Lake State and it looks like we're getting passed by again.

It's a damn shame, a damn shame......a damn shame I have to drive all the way to Madison, WI or IL everytime to see Jay. I guess that's the price you pay for not listening to Pop.

Jay Hasn't been to Michigan in three years. I hope he makes it here soon. As much as I like the road trips to Chicago and Madison, it would be nice to have him back in Grand Rapids again.

Interesting Blurb about Jay

I was at a friend's house over the weekend having cocktails with her parents. Her Dad began talking about Gram Parsons, and I mentioned UT's cover of Blue Eyes. He said, "I listen to their stuff but I never really got into Uncle Tupelo." I felt a little disappointed until he continued, "That Jay Far...

JJW's B-Day Bash

I spent the weekend in Austin for Jerry Jeff Walker's B-Day Bash. On the final night of the bash he played in Gruene and before he came out on stage the sound guy was playing Trace over sound system. On a side note, I've never seen so many people get arrested in one weekend. Austin's a fun town, but...

Stone, Steel, Bright Lights

Sounds like it should be a pretty cool CD. I hope they have Fool King's Crown on the CD. The version I heard Jay do with Canyon was really cool. They rocked out to it and gave it different feel than the one on TB. Anyone know if there will be another preorder special for the new CD in June?

I haven't been able to listen to the whole thing yet, but what I've heard so far is great. It's good to hear Mark Spencer with Jay again. Defeinitely worth the $9.99.
