The only Tweedy songs I really dig on on Still Feel Gone. I also like Acuff-Rose. I haven't heard a great deal of Wilco. I don't like what I've heard, but there may very well be something I haven't heard that is great. I just wont spend money to buy it to find out. Jay, on the other hand, I'll alwa...

What Light is great, but it's the only song I liked on my first couple of listens.

I so wish people would get off the fucking Jay v. Jeff train. I think the biggest cause of it are the type of out-spoken, pretentious assholes that posted in that Onion thing. It is so incendiary and annoying to some Jay fans that they are conditioned to hate Wilco and respond in kind. It becomes s...

I enjoyed this person's comments: "You want to talk about lyrics Uh..here's some recent lyrics from TweedyCo: "Uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh Uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh I'm a wheel I will Turn on you" Yes, Tweedy has some fine lyrics in AGIB. My point is that Kyle Ryan was very selective with the lyrics he l...

The Onion AV Club dislikes The Search

The Onion review of the Search is out, and it's not complimentary. Here's a slice: "More problematic are his lyrics, like in "Underground Dream": "Guns or education / the answer's larger than the Hollywood sign / bigger souls can see the writing / on the burning wall of eternity." The burning wall o...

Well I think it makes sense especially in the context of the previous line where the pay phone doesn't work. He's basically frustrated, he can walk out on the street in Amsterdam and buy all these drugs, but he can't make a simple phone call to his wife.

I don't think it's disrespectful to voice a dislike for one of Jay's songs. It's just really frustrating to read the great reviews about the songs that lost a spot on The Search to Slow Hearse. I've been hugely disappointed that a studio version of Joe Citizen Blues is never going to happen. I love...

Bicycle Hotel chords: D > G > C Stuck in a hotel in Amsterdam Its about sun down for you Your sleep doesn't happen easy Choice words for the pay phone that doesn't work Goodbye absynthe, cocaine and heroin You can't come home Find sleep where you can Situations to laugh about when its over Its a lo...

Yep, best song from the iTunes extras. I love the line about being able to buy cocaine and heroin but not being able to call home. I've replaced Phosphate Skin with this song on the 14-track album, it's a much much better closer, try it out, you'll love it.

And I wish he had never thought up the song Medication from OATMOR, the fact that he wrote it is bad enough, but during the Gob Iron tour he played a 10 minute version of that song that really pissed me off. not to threadjack, but holy crap do i agree with you there. I am not a Medication fan eithe...

Heh, I'm a software developer, I have computer problems all the time. Whenever I hit a problem the first place I go is Google. Most likely I'm not the first one to encounter the issue.

Did you search for the solution online? I typed in what you wrote and got this page back:

Looks like you might need to reinstall Quicktime.

His saddest song is Dent County, no doubt about it. You can tell he put all his love for his dad into that one. I start thinking about my own dad, and how someday I'll have to say goodbye too...

Ours isn't out yet (2 more months) but I was playing The Search yesterday and she really started kicking, my wife made me stop the CD. My wife is convinced it is because the baby doesn't like Jay, I'm convinced the baby was getting funky with it.

I'm not saying we have Jay whores (I can't believe I've started to use this term) here, as my impression is that the people here are of another calibre than the shallow jerks over at the Springsteen boards. But to be honest, I find it hard to believe someone really love this tune. I've only listene...
