Re: New Album: Electro Melodier
2nd listen and I’m hearing a lot of Okemah reminders, probably because of Jay’s higher register vocals (similar to how he sang Jet Pilot).

Re: Grammys.com article
Quote: How about "Someday is Now"? We started to veer off into prog-rock land a bit with that one, but we consciously kept in check. There were a few times in the recording when we had to pull it back from sounding too much like Rush but I think it ultimately sounded more like Zeppelin. Has prog alw...

Re: John Horton
That’s a great piece on Horton. I was completely unaware of his pre-Bottle Rockets resume. This’ll be an interesting group addition. Re:Henneman. Yes, I’ve found myself idly speculating on Farrar-Henneman collaborations and can see it happening. Certainly, guest cameos and even side projects like Ne...

Metacritic reviews are all positive: American Songwriter: “ As they approach the 30th anniversary of when they were first founded, Son Volt comes across as potent as ever. Still the ever-insurgent Americana rebels, they continue to carry the dictates shared in their previous incarnation as Uncle Tup...

Re: New Album: Electro Melodier
One full listen through the album and my top picks are:
Arkey Blue; The Globe; Lucky Ones; Living In the USA; and Like You. Diamonds and Cigarettes is on the cusp of making the short list. In fact, okay, yes, it makes the first cut. Very nice song.

Re: New Album: Electro Melodier
“we won’t know where we stand until December.” Maybe it means we won’t know the situation until the very end? Or, maybe more along the lines of not knowing how we’ll react/respond until the very end. (No, I don’t think it’s Christmas! )

It’s been a long time since I’ve checked into this board...and I guess I picked a good day to see if anything was happening! Am very happy to see this news and look forward to the album.

Re: Official updates?
Muddy Water Finds Its Way is on Spotify. It's really good. Also a solid Anders song Healing Hand. Jay's Freedom's Fire is on Spotify also. https://open.spotify.com/album/10vFkUBzTLRP23ZN83BSkG?highlight=spotify:track:78Lfhefqdt0XEO4iDMxQTX#login It’s very unusual as usually Apple Music essentially ...

Re: Official updates?
Anybody know about “Muddy Waters Finds Its Way”? Here’s a mention of it in a Will Johnson interview. https://americansongwriter.com/new-multitudes-interview-will-johnson-of-centro-matic/
I see it’s listed in the database but, no, I’ve never heard it. Would love to, though, if Will ...

Re: Official updates?
The database can be accessed by anybody.
https://repertoire.bmi.com/Search/Catalog?
Select writer/composer; then input: Farrar Jay. You’ll see all his compositions (unless he’s switched to something non-BMI or ASCAP).

The BMI database (songview, shared with ASCAP) lists Jay with 265 titles. This is unchanged for at least the past several months.

Has this been posted here yet? I recognize Farrar and Tweedy, of course, but is that Stirratt and ?
