It really is a shame. I'm not much of a metal head but I deeply respect DD for his influence and talent. It is a very scary thing, especially for a performer, to contemplate this type of thing. The irony is, there's few places more intimate and "safe" feeling than being onstage performing in front o...

How much is the Wechter? Where is it made (US or Korea/Japan/China/etc)? Is it made out of solid wood, and if so, how much of the guitar (just top, or back/sides as well)? What type of wood is it made out of? What type of finish was applied? What are the dimensions of the body? all of these things c...

never heard of that one. I thought Whiskeytown only had three proper albums. When did "Rural Free Delivery" come out?

+ golden smog too

also saw in the message boards at jayhawksfanpage.com that Golden Smog is "tentatively" going into the studio in March to do a new record, and that tweedy will likely be involved.

Classic 30s are a good cheap tube amp. Although I've seen more than a few blow up, I would say they are more reliable than comparable fenders. The classic 50 is nice too, much warmer sounding to me than the hot rod deville, and much cheaper. You can probably pick up a used classic 30 for $200 or les...

Speculation is meaningless...

If I had to guess based on Jay's songs, I think his political leanings are probably closer to progressive democrat rather than libertarian. However it's really pointless to speculate, for all we know Jay could be a communist, or worse- a republican!! In any event, Jeff Tweedy's views are not in doub...

Regardless of who's paying more or less, it's also very possible that the culprit was a legitimate scheduling conflict. Westerburg just put out a new record, and if the Boquists are involved with a tour, going into the studio with Jay right now may not have worked.

Report to ebay. I don't believe ebay permits selling boots unless the artist explicity authorizes it.

Peter Bruntnell

Another great songwriter is Peter Bruntnell (from the UK). His three most recent albums are fairly easy to obtain- my favorite is "Normal For Bridgewater" (featuring SV members Dave Boquist and Eric Heywood). I recently picked up his new one, "Played Out", which consists of acoustic versions of song...

So does anyone know whether Eric Heywood will be playing on the new record? I always really enjoyed his playing, esp. on Trace. I also really like what he did on Peter Bruntnell's "Normal For Bidgewater". In my mind that dirty steel guitar was a big part of the SV sound.
