Yes, the musical merry go around...................I am 59. Loved the rock in the 70's, got on the Dead Bus late seventies until early 90's, got off and discovered the alt country movement, which I still love, but now finding my way back into the jammie bands. Just love that every show is different...

Yes, but it's not an indictment of Umphrey's McGee or anyone else. I saw Phish in Atlanta on my birthday last year and loved every second of it. My point was I'm knocking on the door of 45 years and can't see myself sitting around listening to bootlegs of a dubious quality coupled with me no longer ...

Aw, man. You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet and Ripple (from 4/18/91 in Charlottesville, VA.) are appallingly bad. This is a great find though. Thanks. Who the fuck would want all of those Umphrey's McGee shows? It reminds me of the several shoe boxes in my hall closet full of Phish bootlegs. Oof.

There's a big, brown cloud in the city And the countryside's a sin The price of life is too high to give up It's gotta come down again The world wide war is over and done And the dream of peace comes true We'll all be drinkin' that free bubble-ubb And eatin' that rainbow stew When they find out how ...

A Little Christmas Help, Please

Of you vinyl lovers here, can you tell me of a good place to purchase vinyl online? My niece has decided (at 17) that the only "proper way to listen to music is on vinyl." While I disagree with that assessment and virtually every 17 year old on the planet, I would like to oblige her and at the very ...

The city is a sea of lights...from Venice Beach to Hollywood & Vine. Drinking whiskey in my winter coat, an empty-hearted town, sure gets cold Dan Tana's by the Troubadour Harry Dean singing 'Oh Danny Boy' After hours at the Overpass Hour after hour at the Overpass I Went Looking For Warren Zevon's...

Y'all are some funny fucking critics. ...a big disappointment ...I thought they broke up ...not real impressed...the same incessant loop for 3-4 minutes ...weird for the sake of being weird ...The rest is crap. But given how I only liked two songs off the last album and none of the previous one, thi...

Considering that this board is essentially running on life support, you are probably safe from a beating! Having said that....(!), I DO think that the members of a band make a real difference in the sound. It's not all about, in this case, Jay Farrar. I think that is why he releases some stuff as s...

I think I'm prepared for the beating that may come my way for this but does it really matter who is playing behind Jay? I am not a musician and I may not hear all of the little things that some of you who are do, but it's the voice, lyrics and his point of view which drew me to Uncle Tupelo and it w...

I just watched two dogs attempt to corral a cat that I was trying to get to come inside. She was having none of it. Girl Cat - 1, slow, but well-meaning dogs - 0.

Indeed. While not at the level of say, Gillian Welch's departure from the studio of 8-odd years between Soul Journey and The Harrow and the Harvest, 2+ years is way too long.

Left a Slide, those are very nice, I especially like the juniper tree. Something I've just recently realized that should have been common sense. When you plant in raised beds filled with a soil mixture I came up with using various recipes (peat moss, compost, vermiculite, good gardening soil, etc.) ...
