There's been some diagreement over the lyrics in "Route". Some say (and I agree) that it's "The mother road remains, it provides no more", others say "Another road remains, it provides no more".
What do you think????

Here's the chord progression: Intro & verses: D A Bm G A D Bridge: G Bm A D Use lots of sus 2's, especially on the Bm. As far as chord voicings, try to avoid using the 3rd except for bridging the melody from one chord to the next (play mostly 5ths and the octave). Play around with it till you get it...

Yeah, I suspected this wasn't a sanctioned CD. That sucks. I was just so excited to see it, guess I got carried away. The store I bought it from is really cool too... I don't think they're into selling bootleg stuff. Oh well, now that I've bought it (and it wasn't cheap - $17.50) what should I do wi...

Uncle Tupelo live CD: "Cover Story"
Anyone ever heard of this? Found it in a local roots/world music store in El Cerrito, CA: http://www.downhomemusic.com/ Anyway, it was made by "label" called "PiggyPuss". It is a collection of live recordings from 1989-1993. They also tout a Son Volt live CD and another UT live CD. Not the best reco...

Yes, living in a cage and having two girly men strut you around a Las Vegas stage are not exactly a tiger's natural habitat. I guess when you fuck with nature, it fucks back sometimes. Ms. Half: I did like the Celine Dion speech. I once went out with a girl who told me Celine was her favorite "music...

Re: My Aunt Died
My Aunt Margaret died 9/25/03 after they turned off the machines keeping her alive after she was found passed out 09/23/03. Her liver failed and as she waited oblivious on the transplant list in a coma the kidneys gave up and the rest of her internal organs bled out. Good bye my dear Aunt, God call...

Re: Son Volt on Letterman
I was just watching The Late Show with David Letterman, and during one of "Biff Henderson's America" comedy pieces, they used "Windfall" as background music. Good stuff. Damn, you beat me to it. :-) Of course out here on the west coast we get Lettermen later. Did you notice the snippet of "Sandusky...

Voted for March too... since it's my CURRENT favorite. My first taste of UT/Jay was Anodyne, then I went on to Trace... both are brilliant. But lately, I'm into March. It has probably my favorite Jay tunes (Criminals; Wipe the Clock) and his interpretation of Moonshiner is otherworldly. Also, it con...

I'm there. Never been to Austin... looking forward to it. Of course the guys I'm going with aren't into country, so I'll have to sneak off to see some of the good stuff. :-) By the way, how does this festival compare with Jazz Fest in New Orleans (in terms of stage layout, crowd size, etc)? I go the...

i agree with prof squishey. i guess there is nothing wrong with some jay fantasies--i admit to some guilt there, but on a more practical note requesting his music seems a better way to help his exposure... the local radio station here in seattle is great about playing jay. i have been requesting st...
