thats, cool, i never knew that about UT and Kurt. From a west coast perspective, I might be able to argue that no UT/nirvana or mudhoney comparisons were made because no one knew who UT was, not enough for anyone to make a comparison anyways. Of course, this is from my perspective in san diego, and ...

Solana Beach
A little late posting cause I'm still blown away. Such an amazing show. Talking to the Canyon guys afterword and the singer said it was possibly the best show they played so far. Jay, get this, told us a story. Apparently they were stopped at the California border, and they had a banana to claim. So...

Trees are simple enough. The "root" (BP in this case) will provide the tape and will trade or do B+P with 4 or 6 people. Then those people "branches" will do 4-6 more trades each to their repspective "leaves". Thus the show is easily circulated to the masses! Trees can get a lot more complicated but...

Here's a tip for people who come on artists' web pages to bitch about Jay not being the high-energy showman they expect him to be: Find something else better to do, I'm sure it's not too hard. And if you really aren't able to hold back from trashing the few decent aritists who are touring NEW materi...

god, i didn't think we'd resort to personal attacks but whatever man. this argument of business vs. art (which i foolishly fell into) is as old and tired as anything. music is art, which can lead to money being made, but to deny its emotion is foolish. if you dont like jay, i dont see why youre on t...

Of course music (MTV, car commercials, whatever) is a business, but i don't think SV saw their band as a business. I'm not a fan of Jay or SV because he writes commercially viable music and markets it well. I think most fans on this board would agree that they like the fact that Jay writes to expres...

well I suppose if I Am sees Son Volt as a business, I guess Jay is a lowlife, laying off his friends. But Son Volt was never a business, it was (is) a band, bands can't play all the time. This argument seems to ignore pretty much every other band that has ever played together, no one ever has a fina...
