TB -- not sure. I'm a tall guy, was wearing a dark blue shirt. We may have met before though, either at Scott Miller or Mic Harrison shows. You do a great job with the videos.

Thanks TB, great job with the videos. The wife and I were there, a few tables to Jay's left. The Down Home is an incredible venue. Hope Jay keeps it on the radar and returns from time to time.

Damn. I wasn't expecting anything to be added from the vault, but I was hoping for Angel of the Blues or Shine On.

Same list for Knoxville. Decent crowd for Sunday, great show. Get there early for Col. Ford, especially if you're a guitar player -- Mark and Gary play off each other perfectly, a clinic in tele twang, entertaining as hell. Honky Tonk songs sound great live. Omitting Shine On and Angel of the Blues ...

That guy at Pitchfork, Stephen Deusner, has been killing Jay & SV for years. His review of Honky Tonk just recycles his reviews of ACD and, for that matter, the One Fast Move project. I'd add links to those but hate to promote the guy. He really ought to fess up & recuse himself.

Reviews of HonkyTonk

Glide Magazine - -Nice. http://www.glidemagazine.com/articles/59283/son-volt.html Jay Farrar and his reconfigured Son Volt lineup draw upon the elemental genre of country music for Honky Tonk. Without a shred of contrivance, they achieve and maintain an ever-so-precarious balance of euphoric music o...

Cool -- good quality video on that streaming. Jay's looking good -- way younger looking than me, though that ain't saying much. Definitely looking forward to new songs, new tour.

From Memphis Commercial Appeal: Saturday’s standout turn came from St. Louis alt-country veterans Son Volt. The group, led by Uncle Tupelo founder Jay Farrar, formed in 1994, and has been an on-again, off-again proposition since the early 2000s. Farrar’s current backing lineup, which includes longti...
