Jay Farrar tribute
I don't know if I can even find the original threat regarding the trib. in the midst of all this mess but I'd like to get back to discussion I find enjoyable. So, I think it was tedious who's organizing this right? Could you remind me of the deadline and where to send it? A PM would be fine but ther...

Re: The Nerds are getting restless!
wow! i’m amazed at the number of people that are in an uproar about this whole lineup change. i’ve had first hand experience with a few of you messageboard losers in the past but this is insane! imagine how much art and music could be created by you people instead of living vicariously through some...

Segernpriest, I respect your post, it seems well thought out, but I don't think Jay owes us any kind of explanation. He doesn't owe us anything. If he puts out music, and we give him 15 bucks, then he owes us a CD, that's about it. Secondly, the guys of Son Volt I don't think will ever be in the rea...

Re: Awesome website chatter!
I'm going out drinking with Eric, Sharon and John in about an hour. I'll make sure and let them know about ALL THE LOVE here on the website, and the hilarious speculations. All I can tell you so far is ...you're all wrong. See you in Nov. on tour with Jay, your last chance for a while to see it one...

Seeing those pics of Eric Heywood reminds me of how much he looks like Captain Sean Doe from Throw Rag. I don't know if this is a good photo to show that but its the only one i could find of his face that was fairly large. They aren't that big a band yet :P http://www.geocities.com/runnin_feart_phot...

Good point about Trace, but I wouldn't neccesarilly agree that they are all that similar. Maybe Straightaways and Trace but I think WST has a definately different sound ad I think it was a nice evolution. That said, it's my opinion that Terroir Blues is Jay's best work since Trace, maybe best of all...

So there is no such thing as good or bad music? Just different? What a wishy-washy way to think. I suppose you "think" the same about good and evil. Maybe to Hitler killing the Jews was good, so we shouldn't harrass him too about it. After all, he is entitled to believe anything he likes. His opini...

Matthew, A few members, including yourself, have pointed out that its really about Jay's music and little else, and I'm inclined to agree. I hate to get caught up in little tiffs about details. While I disagree with your hardline assertion of evidence as it appears to us fans, I apologize for reacti...

Okay, I guess I'll have to spell it out. My theory was a joke, an outlandish story that you can't prove wrong. It implied that no one needs to prove you wrong because you have no proof of your own to support you're theory. Asking us to prove you wrong is idiotic. I would normally promise not to use ...

Yes, but I can't imagine that Jay couldn't come up with something to offer Mike more lucrative than his work at the hometown newspaper. Yes, the glorious life of living in Jay's touring van, playing bars and half full small clubs of people yelling for Whiskey Bottle, trying to publicize the show as...
