I just started watching the Wire about a month ago. I love the show but I really have no idea what's going on. Could I get some help with one thing. The guy that works at the homeless shelter (he revelaed that his name is Reginald)--what's the deal. Is he a former dealer/killer? I've never bought a ...

Wow. That's a lot of good shows. Especially the Uncle Tupelo shows. Just downloaded the 1st UT show and really liked. Hope the others are just as good. Thanks a lot Mr GiGbill for this and also for the previous post about toorents. I am relatively new to getting music through the net. I recently lea...

A question and a comment Question: Is Ryan Adams worth going to see? He's playing in Champaign, Il next Thursday, and sicne I live about an hour away, I've been thinking about going. I know very little about him. Saw him on the Henry Rollins in the last few months playing a song called "What sin rep...

I don't remember it getting reviewed on Pitchfork or in a lot of the bigger music magazines etc..... Praise the lord! Well, I guess that's great for your personal self esteem and you can think your some kind of a "true" music fan. For a little person like me I love Pitchfork. I visit the site almos...

Speaking of the Clash another good music documentary I've seen recently on IFC or Sundance was about Joe Strummer touring with his band (I think they were called Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros). Lots of live music. I think the only Clash song was London's Burning but I actually liked a lot of the M...

Re: Watch it, Poppy.

I'll throw out anyting on the Gob Iron cd. My reasoning is that I don't think many people know it even exists. I don't remember it getting reviewed on Pitchfork or in a lot of the bigger music magazines etc..... Even a good friend of mine who initially turned me onto Wiclo Being There and Son Volt ...

Great topic, I'm a big fan of music documentaries. A great one that I have seen recently is "We Jam Econo: The Story of the Minutemen." Lots of great interviews and even better concert footage. The DVD version for sale has three different shows, one of which is from a local cable access show of them...

I'm a long time lurker that rarely posts. I never really got into Uncle Tupelo until reading many posts by Lawrence Fan, especially about Anodyne. I bought that cd in 2001, listened to it once, didn't like, and it just collected dust. A couple of months ago, after reading a discussion about what peo...
