Best album for me since OKEMAH. But I love the guitar driven band stuff. Many great tunes w an edge. I put out the urgent bat signal to friends from Fla to Chicago to here in SoCal.

Okeman wrote:I agree, the guy couldn't have had much time to practice, yet he just jumped right in without missing a beat, figuratively or literally. I really enjoyed his playing in Asheville.
Is it me or does Jay seem to play with cats that already know and love his music from memory?

Oh man, what a set list in LA. Parked my happy ass next to Mark on the left and I heard him plenty good. What a luxury to have Mark on keys, pedal steel...Always love the cantankerous Mark...Anders too.. my favorite was Catching On..the SV1 stuff...damn shame....what the heck such a long list of gre...

Jay in SoCal tonight

Hoping for a peaceful end to this disaster in Southern California. We had 3 well-armed, camo'd killers shoot up a Health Department Xmas party in 3-4 minutes, then vanish....that was three hours ago Looking forward as always to Jay's smooth voice and lyrical wizardry, performed with the reserved mod...

How great is this dude? He plays straight forward with love, the songs in his head, heart and soul. He nails them all solo before playing Catching On 30 minutes in like its the most recognizable and well known. Burp. Many of us get Jays work, if not mainstream, and that's how we and Jay would want i...

Whoa everybody. Jay has written and recorded a huge number of absolutely brilliant songs, and has made precious little income from it. He's a true artist, and has never created for the money, but he lives in the real world, has a family and everyday responsibilities. He'll create new music to share...

I've read JF interview where he alluded to Tear Stained Eye as being about a Missouri town , maybe named St. Genoveve, that flooded regularly but did a good job holding back the water. The next line about the title seems, as he would put it (see Gramaphone comments on live DVD) "using poetic license...

hate to see Jay put effects on his voice and get away from the basics...straight-forward guitar rock and acoustic folk...but he's our genius, so what do I know...I'm confident the album in full will come together and shine on several tracks.

thanks for this link

and every youtube of Jay...

The rhythym section is intact, and Jay's a guitarist..they've got keyboard to fill out the sound...basically leadwork...probably won't sound exactly right but the meat of the band's been together for a while...and he's a fan, likely familiar with the stuff. And a pro , too...he should be fine. The bi...
