I agree that stage patter is lame. I like the way Jay moves it along at a brisk pace, and you get more music!! It IS nice to hear Jay speak. but a little is enough, and so he remains mysterious. Some people must be conditioned to hearing mumbling between songs, like maybe they forgot the song titles...
