"Hoping Machine" is easily in the Top Ten of any song that Jay Farrar is a part of, and I listen to dozens (UT, SV, solo projects, Gob Iron) regularly.

It's my understanding this is a Jay Farrar and Gary Hunt performance in a venue with lots of tents, other bands, people wandering around, a city festival type of thing.

But, I'd wait for someone "official" to verify that's what it is.

The tour just added Austin, TX., Nov. 13, according to the Son Volt Facebook page. I am hoping for some Midwestern dates to follow.

This Kansas City resident will be in in Osage Beach, Mo., (alas) for a family weekend, otherwise he'd make the drive to St. Louis for the show. Can we count on an attendee to write up a review of this concert please?
