Mark--show at Rough Trade sold out! Have fun on tour--any chance the 3 guitarists will do an Outlaws style assault at least once (similar to Jay's "steel guitar cage match" on the Trace anniversary tour)?

I guess "Tweedy" is a pretty big step up from "TBP". When he refers to him as "Jeff" I'll book my flight to St. Louis.

I always thought the Farcical Hair line was for late era UT Tweedy.

Wow--you figured out Son Volt by the time you were15?! That's awesome (although Neil's Tonight's the Night was my favorite album at that age, so I guess good taste can happen to anyone).

Wow--what a 180 from the Trace shows! He was recording this music while playing those lovely acoustic sets--pretty amazing. Jay sounds very committed--great singing and powerful guitar work. I can't wait to hear it loud on a good system and see him play this music live!

Went for the vinyl + CD + blue t shirt combo. Grabbed the Live in St. Louis while at it.

Interesting on the credits--Spencer on bass, and Gary plays on it too.

I've said before that I think Left a Slide is Jay's finest moment. Like many others here, I would love to hear him play it (I never have). But I think that song falls into the "Want" category. I don't "think" he's ever going to play it again (I recall him telling a fan who wanted to sing it with him...

I asked Jay about this song at a book signing--he just said "yeah, it's a sad song". I get the impression he's not enthusiastic about revisiting the place it came from, which is too bad. Afraid Left a Slide came from the same place (they seem to be a matched pair to me). Based on the sounds so far, ...

Great photo of the band (Andrew's hair!!). This band will rock! Have to believe they all played on the album--why else all be in the same place for a photo now?
