Topic: Mike Cooley the most talented member of DBT?

I would probably pick about 6 or 7 Cooley songs in my top 10 DBT songs. But, I think Patterson Hood is still the guy who carries the band. Live, he's the clear frontman and he probably wrote a much larger percentage of their songs. The album that really hooked me on DBT was 'Alabama Ass Whuppin', wh...

Hayes Carll is excellent. I first saw him opening for Patterson Hood acoustic, and he was really good - somewhat serious and somewhat funny. I love the tune 'Bad Liver and A Broken Heart' on his newest CD.

But you blamed Dubya above, when the CEO's and politicians actually got their windfall years ago, not in the bailout. But, I think it clearly doesn't work in practice, unrestricted. I dont' have a link at them moment, but you can look that both Rs and Ds in this mess have recieved lots and lots of ...

Barney Frank and Slick Willie aren't my heroes. I understand that a lot of these underqualified mortgages were made due to the Clinton administration. However, it's not the government's job to bail out Wall Street, just because Wall Street didn't think the Housing Bubble would ever burst. A friend o...

I guess I'm just completely disillusioned by politicians in the USA. If that's Libertarian or whatever, who knows. I studied Keynesian trickle down economics in college 20 years ago. It's nice, in theory to let the investors and rich people make lots of money and spread it around. But, I think it cl...

I couldn't tell you too much about the Americana Music Awards ... Embarrassingly, I had no idea there was such a thing as Americana Music Awards. I knew about the AMA, but didn't think there was a corresponding awards show. Who would know? It's not broadcast in any form over the airwaves. But I thi...

As soon as an award is manufactured for a music genre, kiss it goodbye. Except for the Grammys. Those are awesome. If you make music for a living, and can't win a Grammy... pfft. I'm not sure. Would Robert Plant even care about a Grammy after Zeppelin never was ackowledged? I will often post while ...

Really, that doesn't make the case for waterboarding. Seeing as she probably has already killed her own child, any mediocre lawyer would get the case dismissed in court due to the confession by torture. Instead of finding the facts out about what happened and making her go to jail for a long time.

I think those Danelectro Mini-Pedals would be good for your set-up. You probably have enough distortion/overdrive in the amp. I assume you have a tuner if you play guitar (it's kinda necessary). I like the Tuna-Melt Tremolo for that CCR Born On The Bayou/R.E.M. MOnster album effects. Most of them ca...
