Don't Don't Let's Start

Jay is easily one of my favorite singers. Someone (I forget where I read it) once referred to Jay as having a "once in a lifetime" voice. I've always liked that description. I could never think of anyone with a sound and style similiar to Jay's, nor had I really tried, however my cousin brought up t...

I watched the movie last night and thought it was excellent. I'm not a student of Kerouac either, but the movie definitely piqued my interest. Did an internet search of my local library's catalog and found they don't even carry "Big Sur". Thought that kind of odd. Amazon time. The short extras of Ja...

"On Chant and Strum" vinyl sounds sweet to these ears. I agree that "Bicycle Hotel" is one of Jay's finest. I yelled out for it at the Charlotte show and Jay smiled. It's a great love song.

I went with stereo, which I believe is the only option for Abbey Road and Let It Be. Peppers is available in mono if I recall. The stereo box is 14 discs and the mono is 11. I think Yellow Submarine is the third stereo-only disk. I really love the "side 2 medley" from Abbey Road, especially "You Nev...

I picked up Abbey Road, Let It Be, and Sgt Pepper on 09.09.09 and am quite impressed. My local indie store Horizon Records also threw in some killer freebies: a The Beatles 09.09.09 black t-shirt, a numbered lithograph with a White-album era photo I had not seen before, a trading card, and for good ...

I'll be at The Visulite with my cousin (driving from Wilmington) and a buddy. We hope to score some cheap tickets to the Panthers/Eagles game the following day as well. Should be the makings of a nice weekend barring any "incidents". All bets are off when my cousin and I get together. Has anyone bee...

I truly appreciate all of the kind words and feel for the others out there that are dealing with loss in any form. It's a bizarre place to be, sitting in a bland apartment that smells like every apartment you've ever been in. I'm so thankful for the music. You should have seen me scrambling to get m...

or better. Seriously, I can't stop listening to this record. it reminds me of my younger days when I would just wear an album out from time to time. This hasn't happened to me in a long time, I was sometimes afraid I would never have that feeling again. Anyway, it couldn't have come at a better time...

Mark hands down. It's not even close.

I'd bet (if I was a bettin' man) that said dude could eat a Moon Pie and drink a bottle of Bud at the same time, and not even think twice about it.... and THEN go out for the pancake stack.

I believe Okemah and the Melody of Riot is  the finest opera yet written.
