I can recommend Cohen, a lot!

Tom Waits is BY FAR First on my list of living artists. The Pogues

Neil Young is one that I've never seen. Else I don't think I have any other I would so strongly wish to see that I haven't seen already.

What tour? I was 14 when they last came through Texas, didnt go. By far my favorite band when I was a melancholy teenager. Neil Young fits the bill for me now as a melancholy adult :D

Galway and Cork on consecutive nights in 1984.

Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want
William, It Was Really Nothing
What She Said
Nowhere Fast
Pretty Girls Make Graves
Reel Around The Fountain
Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now
This Night Has Opened My Eyes
How Soon Is Now?
Still Ill
I Want The One I Can't Have
Miserable Lie
This Charming Man
Hand In Glove
These Things Take Time
What Difference Does It Make?

My $50 and up list is pretty short...

Neil Young
Pearl Jam
Guns n Roses (only if Axl gets back together with Slash and crew)
Plant and Page in some sort of Zep reincarnation.

Um...that's about it.

I went to see The The live just to see Johnny Marr, I have to say it was one of the worst shows Ive ever seen. Very boring, the whole crowd just staring at Marr hoping he would utter something. I really liked the Infected album, and Mind Bomb (with Marr) though.

I've seen The Smiths and Husker Du. Ahh the 80's!

Ian Brown live is no joke...fucking awful, worse than the Dandy Warhols.

Bob Mould/Husker du
Jay/SV/UT
Neil Diamond (cause i did!)
Neil young
Big Star - Circa Early 70s
Rolling stones 68-73
Robyn Hitchcock and the Egyptians
Id probably pony up 50 to see Louris/Olsen
Stone Roses
Little feat with Lowell George

So as you can see im pretty safe on most of my choices.. they are mostly historical.

I saw Big Star last year and they were awsome (supported by Robyn Hitchcock with out the egyptians). So if they do tour again and head your way spend your $50.

1. The Smiths
2. Uncle Tupelo
3. Stone Roses
4. Neutral Milk Hotel
5. The Modern Lovers (with all 4 original members)
6. Tom Waits
7. Weezer (with Matt Sharp)
8. Wilco (with Jay Bennett, Ken Coomer, and Bob Egan)
9. Rolling Stones (at the Double Door)
10. Leonard Cohen
11. A Full Leppotone Family Reunion (Sleestacks, King Tammy, Twister, The Sinatras, et al.)
*Includes travel and accommodation costs—these guys reunite for $6 shows like every three years.
12. The The (with Johnny Marr)
13. ABBA
what's that in pounds strerling?

p.s don't waste you money for the Stone Roses. As much as i love the songs, Ian Brown is a great example of the wizardry that can be done in a recording studio. Live he sounds worse than Alf Alpha

I'm not sure about the pricing but bands I'd be prepared tp pay a bit extra for would be;

Smiths
husker du
Uncle Tupelo
Whiskeytown
The Jam

I've seen most of my idols

That is a list that I can agree with! The The with Johnny Maar would be sweet. I was a big Matt Johnson fan back in the day and got my wife into him/them. The Smiths but I think that is as likely as a UT reunion1 The original Modern Lovers would easily be worth >$50. The Stones a t the Double Door, I'd pay over $100. Wilco with those guys again? Fuck yeah!! but as likely as the Smiths and UT! Stone Roses with Happy Mondays opening would rule!! Waits and ABBA, of course. I never got into Weezer, don't know why. I couldn't tellyou a Weezer song. Leppotone? No clue other then I assume it's a label. Neutral I understand wee the shit but I couldn't tell ya jack....
