WFUV in New York is playing an interview from a few years back with Jay Bennett tonight at 9pm Eastern.
(I guess today because Wilco is playing in Brooklyn tonight.)

Stupid Pharmaceuticals
Fentanyl is evil. I've seen my fair share of veteran friends begging on their hands and knees for the patches once they've had their first one from the V.A. Hospital. Devil's crack it is, and should be banned. Our friends in chronic pain get a batch and then apply too much, too often.
I hate it. I'm mad on top of sad that Jaybee's gone now.

Fentanyl too, which is much stronger than even morphine. My goodness.

I've been playing his cd's in the car and am now going to put a compilation together. I am a bit surprised by how his death has affected me.half-n-half wrote:hiTokyo Fan wrote:I just heard the news about Jay today. that is kinda cool that your info input has been nil. refreshing,
no doubt, to be away from the barrage of stimuli via the internets and what not.
yeah, his passing is sad.
(Nil info input: At first it was fairly frustrating...but then we just started living locally and pretty much became unaware of the world. Our one certain source of information was the farmer who has cattle grazing on our place. He'd come by once a day and, for example, matter of factly inform us that we'd been in the middle of a tornado watch for the past several hours. It was news to us! We will try to get connected to highspeed internet, but so far our neighbors simply laugh. Evidently they are content (or resigned) to dail-up.)

Damn it! So much for that theory.hardwood floor wrote:i'm always up for a good conspiracy theory, but they had been planning that server change for a long while ... well before jay passedcountryfeedback wrote:I find it a tad bit ironic that the viachicago board has been down for several days...Apparently their changing servers or some shit...If I didnt know any better, I would think that this is intentional...Plus the RIP Jay Bennett header has been removed from the bands homepage...I know that these decisions are not entirely Jeff's but I think it's pretty chicken shit either way.
