Ellen rules! She`s been living in Canada for a long time. She plays slide like crazy and her vocal style is unusual and really good.I really dig her records.Unhurried Ways wrote:http://www.thelyricarchive.com/img/pic/ ... 18681/main
Ellen McIlwaine, slide guitar and harmonica
Used to see her each year when she came to Cleveland in the mid-70s
Hard to believe she's in her mid-60s, doesn't seem right
Instead of a train, she'd make her harmonica sound like tug boats and sea gulls
She was a pretty big girl, wore high heels, and would put away the beer on stage. We almost collided head-on, high speed, as she was on the way to the head between sets. Good times.
