cool tracer. i love, in particular, cranking the first song off "kill the moonlight" my 4 yr old likes it too. i play it every saturday morning. kind of a variation of classic rock stations playing "born to run" every friday at 5 pm. by the way, loosestring, it goes without saying (at least in my book) that springsteen, dylan, and van morrison are three of the greatest musicians ever.

by the way. loosetring, i think "pg lib" by stephen malkmus is one of the "purest" rock and roll records of the last couple of years. an interesting incarnation and amalgam of the mid-career rolling stones, early david bowie, jane's addiction, and many others, but are still totally themselves. if you listen to music stoned (as i do out here in california) you'll love this one.

i like tracer's list best so far. if i might add to the distinquished musicians/bands mentioned there:

the red house painters/mark kozelek
eels
spoon
low
interpol
peter bruntnell
eleventh dream day

you can't go wrong with any of these if you're looking for experimental, kick-ass music.

Lately I've been listening to:

Neil Young
Jay Farrar
UT
Tommy Womack - His last few releases are great
Robbie Fulks
Bob Dylan

Tommy Womack is terribly under appreciated. Check him out.

Wow, what a broad question... if you want a list of the bands I listen to most, these days, it would be All, Guided By Voices, Husking Bee, Dillinger Four, and as always AC/DC. Eagerly anticipating the new Mike Watt album. I also dig The Who and The Beatles quite a bit. But really, that's only scratching the surface...
