Weird indeed!

I think that it was written by "burnouts trading ideas and pipe hits on the fire escape."

I always thought Trace was the sequel to Anodyne?

True enough, but at least he didn't mention "you-know-who".

Here's agood one that doesn't mention Tweedy or Wilco.

"Indeed, "American Central Dust" almost refuses to call attention to itself, using subtle layers of sonic texture and observation that gradually resolve into one of Farrar's finest albums."

I don't think it's gone gold.

They also like the word seminal. Don't think I've ever read a reference to Uncle Tupelo in a Jay/Son Volt (or Wilco) where they didn't break out the word "seminal".

I thought Trace was gold? Like not right away, but w/in the past few years it went gold? Maybe I'm making that up...

Also, these reviewers can retire the word "plaintive". I think it's been in every ACD review I've read. Every one - literally.

Aside from the total horseshit nature of the comment “melody deprived monotone”, god … I can’t even. Whatever? WHAT? I don’t know what she was listening to. Regardless, I am beginning to feel that people need to pre-qualify to write Son Volt reviews.

Here’s prerequisite number one:
Q: Do you intend (in your Son Volt review) to mention Wilco and / or Tweedy?
A: Well, yes. Obviously!

THEN, NO REVIEW FOR YOU!
Why? Because you fucking FAIL AT LIFE.

That dead horse has been repeatedly beaten, died some more, has risen and it’s zombie shell again beaten until there’s nothing left. Please. Stop.

I love the comment by "Denton Fabrics" regarding "Song Volting."

We might have start a new thread just for that. :D
Yeah, the Denton Fabrics' comment was much better than the backhandedly favorable review.
