i saw her at a recent Free at Noon at World Cafe Live in Philly ... was kind of an odd deal ... she did a Decemberists track of all things and a few other covers ... everybody was yelling out for broken english but she just laughed and kept saying, "next time, next time"

was an odd gig -- all covers, which i guess is what her new record is? worth checking out then i imagine?

a real treat seeing marc ribot though ... really stole the show ... one of the most remarkable players i've ever seen

Yeah it`s all cover songs.Everything from Dolly Parton to Neko Case to Bessie Smith to Merle Haggard to Morrissey. It`s like a Tom Waits record,it has that feel to it.Loads of guests on it:Chan Marshall,Nick Cave,Sean Lennon,Keith Richards, members of the Dirty Three...
Yeah Ribot is amazing.
Her cover of Neko`s Hold On Hold On:
