I agree. Roll On is to SV 2.1 as Creosote is to SV 1.0.

Also:
Chaos Streams is to JF as In My Life is to John Lennon.
Cahokian (or Barstow) is to decline of a society as Out of the Picture is to decline of an individual.
No Turning Back is to JF as It's a Long Way to the Top is to ACDC... OK well maybe as Turn the Page is to Bob Seeger.

As the No Depression review (well) said about Roll On, it doesn't much go anywhere, it just stays in the sweet spot the whole time.

I don't think Jay ever used those chord changes before, simple and clever, a modulation between key of C and D that sounds fresh everytime he makes the switch, with the Am kicker in the D part.

"Every Don Quixote has his day" isn't a bad line, I mean it's not "We're all living proof that nothin lasts", but...

I actually think "Dust of Daylight" is a sequel to "Medicine Hat."

Or possibly "Sin City" by the Burritos.

Hmmm. I love both songs, but I'm not really sure I feel a connection.

"Interstate moving again, we barrel through thick and thin, side by side to survive like creosote" has always been one of my lines, for personal reasons.

I tend to overanalyze lyrics (I'm an English teacher), but anyone think this song could be the sequel to Creosote?
