Son Volt at Hartwood Acres amphitheatre, 8/9/09, 7:30 PM.
1000s attended, weather warm, not too humid
ACD. Dynamite, Down to the Wire, Dust of Daylight (chicken soup for the twang-infested soul), When the Wheels (good and heavy), No Turning Back, Pushed Too Far, Exiles, Strength and Doubt (no Sultana)
Search. Picture (opener, harmonica not up to Jay's usual standard), Search, Meth, (no Slow Hearse)
Jay did not wear a cape at any time, nor mention the Steelers.
Okemah. Bandages (a favorite), Afterglow, Medication (with long instrumental similar to last tour), Gramophone.
Sebastopol. Feel Free.
Sound was good by my ears, Jay mentioned some feedback in his vocal mike.
Gob Iron. Buzz'n'Grind (keep playing this!)
Soundtrack. Big Sur
Trace. Windfall, 10 Second News (like Crazy Horse would have done it, another highlight)
Dave and Andrew drink Yuengling. Mark uses Apple laptops.
Hank...This a way, closer with Looking...Windshield as the finale.
Dave tossed the shaker during Windshield, this has to be an SV tradition.
When, Jay, are ye gonna close with Postcard, Punch Drunk and Graveyard Shift in one continuous rumble?
