Son Volt - Chicago Sept 25
Looked to be about the same setlist as the detroit one. I hadnt checked that list until i got back just now.
I was surprised to see 10 second news. Nice to see.
2nd half of the concert seemed better than the first. Mark seems turned up pretty loud in comparison to the rest of the band. Both the Steel Guitar and Keyboards.
Underground Dream was one of the those songs that was ok on record and really improved live. I like when that happens. Couple of interesting things, Jay had some problem with his sunburst Bonizinga acoustic and had to replace it mid song and some woman got up on stage and surprised Jay when his back was turned. THe stagehand was ready to rush her off stage but she got a sorta hug from Jay before getting sent back down.
Favorite songs: Buzz and grind, underground dream and Damn Shame. Waylons cover was cool too.
