My father died in september after a long & painful illness; he was in a place of full despair the last few months. Low life kingdom, the lyrics, with Jay's delivery--"wake up where the atmosphere is dearer, maybe closer to heaven" -- has provided a great deal of insight and for some reason, comfort.
In any event, I agree, a beautiful, standout song. Gibbard's high harmonies on this and Sea Engines are stellar. What an album.

Is that just a beautiful song or what? What a voice.
