I would probably have to go with Yankee Hotel Foxtrot as the best of the decade. Just a great album, all the way through, great songs, and the last great album Wilco made.

Followed closely by Okemah and the Melody of Riot and probably Songs for the Deaf from Queens of the Stone Age.

Among hundreds of others.

in no particular order with it weighted towards the start of the decade (back when I had money).

Blue Mountain 'Midnight in Mississippi'
Alejandro Escovedo 'A Man Under the Influence'
Jay Bennett and Edward Burch 'The Palace at 4 a.m.'
Neil Young 'Greendale'
Wilco 'Yankee Hotel Foxtrot'
Ryan Adams and the Cardinals 'Cold Roses'
Steve Forbert 'Solo Live in Bethlehem'
Bottle Rockets 'Zoysia'

edit: deleted one fast move as determined this to be shameless pandering. To be a nominee for "decade' album has to stand the test of time, which means Midnight in Mississippi "iffy" as well.

I have either Cold Roses from Ryan Adams and the MF Cardinals or Illinois by Sufjan Stevens...
