Re: island
Funny you mention this one. Grifter got me reminiscing with all of his Van Halen posts and I went digging for my copy of Fair Warning. I hadn’t listened to this one in a loooong time. This is the best Van Halen record IMO. Eddie plays angry and the songs are actually fairly well written. I’m not sure if the booze or the money corrupted EVH, but he stopped writing decent songs and the entire Hagar period , for me, was a waste of time. His “sound” also changed after this record (if that’s the right way to say it) and he never got it back. Reminds me that good song writing is what matters the most when talking about any band with a history worth remembering. I think VH got about half way there. OK enough VH talk.bensco wrote:Fair Warning- Van Halen. I also hope I have my guitar so I could spend the rest of my island life learning to play like Edward.

speaking of libraries and sebastopol. last time i was at the PCL was when sebastopol came out. studying and listening to that cd and figgurin' out which was my favorite song. hadn't thought about that till that gunman incident on campus a little while back. we're you there when Quacks was still on the drag? best coffee house ever!
