I second that! Some of the best concerts I have seen were in Lawrence--New Pornographers, Lucero, Richard Buckner. Every town needs a Bottleneck!

I saw Uncle Tupelo at the Bottleneck, I believe it was in '93. I remember Son Volt played mostly at The Grenada and I saw Jay play there solo once as well. I'm a KU alumn living in Dallas now. What a great town Lawrence is, I go back whenever possible.

LF, I am here in KC, MO and I wonder the same thing. From the top of my head, I can't recall him ever coming to the Bottleneck. This doesn't make much sense as it would seem to be a perfect venue for him and one in line with many other venues he frequents. Maybe we should drop a few hints to Pipline Productions at the Bottleneck to see if we can't make it happen. Also, we might be able to email his management. I did the same to My Morning Jacket and got a response explaining why they hadn't played there and their future plans. I would love to see him there. I think the crowd would be huge.

Tour dates??

Post by Lawrence Fan »

Looking at the tour page, I'm kinda scratching my head here. Given the history that Jay has with certain Midwestern venues, I'm surprised to see no shows scheduled for St. Louis, Columbia MO or here in Lawrence at The Bottleneck. Is the Tour page on this site listing ALL of the shows? Will more be posted as time goes on? Or [wishfull thinking] maybe Jay is planning a tour-ending blowout in this neck of the woods? I noticed that the last few shows listed seem to have him heading towards the St. Louis area, so.... If anybody could shed some light on the completeness of the tour schedule it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
