Nope. All acoustic and quiet like. Gotta say I'm a fan. Sort of forgot I was a fan of his dad from earlier in life. And never knew that the Shel Silverstien of Where the Sidewalk Ends is one in the same with the Shel Silverstien of A Boy Named Sue.

I saw BBJ open for Son Volt in New Orleans a few years ago - my eardrums are still hurtning from the volume, was it loud?

Dang! I just flew in from there. What a terrible place to have to go back to

Also found out while I was there that Death Cab for Cutie formed there. Did not know that.

this song is copyrighted in u.s., under seal of copyright # 154085, for a period of 28 years, and anybody caught singin it without our permission, will be mighty good friends of ourn, cause we don't give a dern. publish it. write it. sing it. swing to it. yodel it. we wrote it, that's all we wanted to do.

Hey, Woody was born JULY14TH, 1911...so atleast we don't have to wait for Bastille Day....when will we release Jay's (I'm guessing) solo album???that'll be sweet.

Wonder how El Diablo is doing with the new kid and solo album and all? Seems DuPlantis is in an Austin-based trio, instrumental jam thang

Gary Hunt will be accompanying Jay on guitar for these dates.

August 18 - Word x Word Festival - Pittsfield, MA
September 24 - Gram Parson Guitar Pull & Tribute - Waycross, GA

October 14-16 - City Winery - New York, NY

October 21 - Sheldon Concert Hall - St. Louis, MO

November 3 – Wild Buffalo – Bellingham, WA
November 4 – Tractor Tavern – Seattle, WA
November 5 – Doug Fir – Portland, OR
November 6 – WOW Hall – Eugene, OR
November 9 – Mystic Theatre – Petaluma, CA
November 10 – Great American Music Hall – San Francisco, CA
November 11 – Rio Theatre – Santa Cruz, CA
November 12 – Largo – Los Angeles, CA
November 13 – Belly Up Tavern – Solana Beach, CA

Jay has been collaborating with Anders Parker, Will Johnson and Jim James on a collection of Woody Guthrie songs. This album will be released on Rounder in January 2012. I will have more info about this release soon. 2012 marks the centennial anniversary of Woody Guthrie's birth. Nora Guthrie has been working very hard to fill 2012 with very cool concerts and releases. Please check out the website for all things Woody!

We have a couple of more special releases coming up. As soon as I have details, I will send out the information.

Take care,
Sharon
