Does Farrar even have a stash of recordings a la Neil Youn'g Archives?

While not a board old-timer, I like to think I've contributed something over the last three years or so. That said, I agree with Dev (and Grifter when this topic was brought up a while back) that once the new music comes out, there will be more chatter here. I also agree that Facebook (I am not a user) has taken away from message boards like this. Can you imagine a Jay Facebook page? Ick.
I come here to e-hang out with similarly minded people and not necessarily to talk about Jay. Half started a gardening thread that I love. Folks like to talk about Jeff Tweedy/Wilco and while not a fan, I imagine it's nice for those that are to be able to come to a place and do so without having to deal with quite as many asshats as I think are probably hanging out on the Wilco board. And like so many others here, I've learned about a lot of new music by perusing these pages and am grateful for that. Those are just a couple of reasons I see for why this board is still revelant/important and why I'll continue to drop by for as long as it exists.
Long live jayfarrar.net.

We grew up.
--
"Pooh, when I'm--you know--when I'm not doing Nothing,
will you come up here sometimes?"
"Just Me?"
"Yes, Pooh."
"Will you be here too?"
"Yes, Pooh, I will be really. I promise I will be,
Pooh."
"That's good," said Pooh.
"Pooh, promise you won't forget about me, ever. Not
even when I'm a hundred."
Pooh thought for a little.
"How old shall I be then?"
"Ninety-nine."
Pooh nodded.
"I promise," he said.
Still with his eyes on the world Christopher Robin put
out a hand and felt for Pooh's paw.
"Pooh," said Christopher Robin earnestly, "if I--if I'm
not quite" he stopped and tried again --". Pooh, whatever
happens, you will understand, won't you?"
"Understand what?"
"Oh, nothing." He laughed and jumped to his feet. "Come
on!"
"Where?" said Pooh.
"Anywhere," said Christopher Robin.
So they went off together. But wherever they go, and
whatever happens to them on the way, in that enchanted place on
the top of the Forest a little boy and his Bear will always be
playing.

He's the real deal. For his seedier, sloppier side, check out Verbena. Very Glimmer Twinny in its sound and references. Lotta spikes in the veins.Grifterwithafunnylittleha wrote:"There are some people out there like Chuck Berry, people that find an amazing style early on, that genius, and then that’s their style forever. And the change, even if it’s simple or subtle, is really hard to implement because of the inertia.

Thankful for the knowledge too,

Me and Larry in Mexico. It's like the worst episode of Breaking Bad you ever dreamed of. Mexican food, blue meth and Larry's notoriously unreliable bowels. Jesus, it was a nightmare.I only escaped by offering sexual services at truckstops. Everyone declined and drove me out of the country and dumped me near a Starbucks in Texas.
Long walk back from Texas...it's bigger than it looks.
