I didn't even know the Calexico song, just happened to hear about him on a recent PBS bio of Phil Ochs.

according to wikipedia this album was
released posthumously as a compilation.
- Víctor Jara presente, colección “Haciendo Historia”, Odeon (1997

well, actually i can't find the album that
refers to the cover in this post. do you have
info on the Jara album?

looking at it closer, i'll guess it's -
Victor Jara, Presente Vol. 4, Dicap, 75'

Was the cover art for Okemah inspired by this Victor Jara album? Just curious, he was a folk/protest singer like Woody, maybe there was a connection. Maybe this was discussed back when it came out, I can 't remember.
