She filled in for Ane Brun for a song she did with Madrugada on a tour of theirs back in 2006, now that you mentioned it.

I've actually gotten this and it is pretty good. Reminiscent of Ane Brun.

I realize this band is not new but have been introduced to them recently and really like both albums very much!

the new classic GBV lineup is tried and true. there are some great tracks on Let's Go Eat The Factory and Class Clown Spots a UFO. Tobin's work here is great too. if you're a fan or want to be, i think these recordings contain everything GBV past and present. 42 instant classics with another record on the way.

The Lunimeers (didn't think i would but i do like this album)
Real Estate (either album is excellent)
Diamond Rugs (has it moments...)
Father John Misty (haven't had enough time with it)
Megafaun (just getting into them...and i like it)

summertime is always Desmond Dekker and Toots for me as well.

Nick Cave's soundtrack to Lawless, a film he wrote.
Comes out tomorrow, but you can hear it here:

Has Ralph Stanley doing White Light White Heat, it's worth it for that alone. Plus Mark Lanegan, Emmylou Harris, Willie, and of course Nick Cave and Warren Ellis.
