And how good is his Waylon cover. That is a heck of a closer. Fine, fine form.

Recording sounds great, band extremely tight. New songs really come alive here, no pun intended. Hoping Machine amazing, Voodoo Candle back to it's original form, Okemah songs really rock. Voice is in fine form. Nice song selection from almost all of the catalog.

Hope to get to see a show, Dallas, Austin, OKC. Timing and logistics working against me, but by the sound of this I have to find a way.

Can't wait.

Afterglow really rocking, maybe the rocking-est version I've ever heard.

Great stuff.

Great show. Nice turnout for a Thursday. Horrible 2 hour drive home in the downpour.

I've actually met him after shows twice before. First time was at the Birchmere in Alexandria, VA on the Wide Swing Tremolo tour. It was standing in line waiting to meet him that I overheard him tell a friend that his first child was on the way, but that he and Monica did not want to make it public yet. I then met him again at the Pageant in St. Louis, I believe in 2007.

So yes, I would imagine it's rare, but it's not unprecedented.

wish i had stuck around to meet him!
definitely was a great show, and everyone come out early enough to catch Col. Ford, you won't regret it!

i got a setlist from the stage, will post it here a little later.
"Barstow" sounded awesome, i tell y'all "Barricades" needs to be one of the closing songs, they could really jam it out a little bit and it would be a perfect ending song.

encore was the same as the mercy show i believe...

there WAS a taper there, i asked and he said he was going to put it up on etree soon... 8)

band was in fine shape! Gary and Mark just rip it up, trading licks back n' forth, Andrew rockin' the grizzly man beard was jammin' hard, Dave keeping it steady all the way thru...

it was great to have them back at the Orange Peel!

Great, great show. Jay and the band poured their heart out on stage. I mean an absolute blistering set.

Jay was so kind to come out and meet the fans afterwards. I have seen many bands at the Orange Peel, most of which are not as talented as Son Volt, and the lesser acts have been very distant, but Jay was so gracious. Coolest guy ever.

I have been reading Jay's book, and got to talk to him about it. So awesome. Bought it on iTunes, and bought a hard copy at the show.

First time seeing them live, and can not wait to see them again. In my top 5 shows at the Orange Peel ever. This was seriously what live music is all about.
