No real hardware requirement, other that a huge hard drive to hold the gigabytes upon gigabytes of shows you can download. Pick up a BT client. There are many. I like both Aurius or Bittornado. Both are shareware.

The concept of Bit Torrent is brilliantly explained on the STG (Sharing The Groove) Forums, under what thay call "Technobabble". There they also have links to whatever software you'll need. The page is not available at the moment, I believe they are changing servers.

Good luck and have fun!

Please lead me out of ignorance! Explain bit torrent

Could somebody please give me an abreviated explanation of what this
is? Maybe post a link that will explain it all? I'm not completely helpless,
or stupid for that matter...well, maybe a little. :)

I obviously understand it's another data transfer process, but I gather it
requires special software? Is there a hardware requirement?

Thanks!
