One of my recent favorites...
"Anders Osborne - Tipitina’s Live 2006" (not to be confused with "Anders Osborne Live at Tipitina's").
The band tears it up all night! And for you Neil Young fans, a pretty good cover of "Down By The River".

The kinda recent R.E.M. live in Ireland deal is damn good too... Live At The Olympia, or something like that. Alot of the old stuff.

Four of the greatest live albums of all-time:

1) Johnny Cash -- "At Folsom Prison"
-- Beyond description. Absolutely the single best live recording ever.

2) Townes Van Zandt -- "Live at the Old Quarter, Houston, Texas"
-- As one reviewer writes, this is poetry in its purest form. Lovely and understated and complex and timeless. Only Cash's above tops this in terms of live recordings of all-time.

3) Greg Brown -- "The Live One"
-- perfect combo of heartbreakingly beautiful songs and witty banter.

4) John Prine -- "John Prine Live"
-- same as Greg Brown above, only with even more humor

I've always liked Poco's live album, Deliverin'.

Haven't listened to Neil Young in a long time, and it was probably Decade or Comes a Time. Saw a local band cover Powderfinger years ago, and it was truly memorable. Jay's cover of Like a Hurricane ain't bad.
