Excellent show Friday. Missed SV when they stopped in Chicago during the HT tour, so this was my first time seeing Gary in action. What an excellent musician.
Pretty much the same set list. He played a cover during the encore I don't know. We also got Underground Dream, but no Back Into Your World. On the intro to Underground Dream I think it's the most personality I've ever seen from Jay. Commented that Bruce Springsteen had played it on his radio show, and if the song was good enough for Bruce, it was good enough for us.
Overall an excellent night of music. My first time at City Winery. Good food. Very good sound. So glad a great musician like Jay is on the road.

A few impressions:
I’d seen Jay a dozen or so times before last night, and this might’ve been the best set list yet. It was the first time I’d seen Back Into Your World (in fact, Jay prefaced that one by commenting, “Gosh, I haven’t played this song in about 10 years”). Other fun surprises were Grindstone and California Zephyr.
Nothing new here but Gary Hunt’s versatility is beyond impressive. On top of electric guitar, fiddle, and mandolin, he’s now playing a lot of steel guitar. I thought he particularly shined on Strength And Doubt (fiddle), Barstow (mandolin), Grindstone (steel), and Highway 61 (electric).
Jay played acoustic guitar all night and added harmonica on The Picture. Between songs he was mostly short on words as usual, but he was cordial and gracious throughout the evening.
Altogether a really solid show. Definitely worth catching Jay and Gary somewhere along this tour if you get the chance.
